The program is focused on the education of Electrical Engineering professors and researchers of high quality, and seeks to maintain a multidisciplinary character. It expects that program students will manage to develop skills in research and in teaching that will enable them to develop relevant and pertinent research and contribute to the advancement of their respective fields as well as the economic and social development of the country, enabling them to conduct critical analyses of field literature as well as elaborate degree programs, courses, and training at higher learning institutions. In terms of our alumni profile, our graduates with Master’s as well as Doctoral degrees are known for their active roles in industry and the finance and services sectors.

PPGEE encourages graduates to develop the following abilities and skills:

  • To understand, question and solve problems in Electrical Engineering, using scientific knowledge to propose original, appropriate and efficient solutions;1456348640_applix
  • To develop and apply new theoretical knowledge and practices in Electrical Engineering;
  • To analyze new situations in a profound, critical manner, relating them to other previously encountered situations.
  • To create and use models applied to devices and systems in the area of Electrical Engineering;
  • To communicate new and sophisticated scientific knowledge appropriately in oral, written and graphic form;
  • To evaluate human, social, ethical and environmental aspects in Engineering situations and research;
  • To be able to look critically at one’s research area and how it relates to other areas of knowledge.
