Academic life is divided into recommended stages depending on your degree (Master’s, Doctorate or Direct Entry Doctorate). Remember that each stage has rights and obligations as described in the USP, EPUSP and PPGEE regulations.

It’s vital for students to read and understand these regulations in reference to the suggested stages to follow and keep their advisors aware of their content and the student’s progress in meeting them. You should be in frequent contact with your advisor.

  • 1st stage – Completion of credits (Courses/Others), Research;
  • 2nd stage – Qualifying Examination (Qualifying Examination Committee/Deadlines);
  • 3rd stage – Research and Publication (National/International);
  • 4th stage – Final considerations and conclusion (Thesis or Dissertation Defense Committee/Deadlines).
